The small coastal town of Cervo, with its narrow mews, sits right on top of the rolling hills above the bay of Diano. The old palace, now the home of the ethnographic museum and San Giovanni, one of the prettiest examples of baroc churches in Liguria, should be on your list of places to visit. Every year from the end of July to the end of August, Cervo plays host to a chamber music festival featuring a number internationally known performers. The village also has a good selection of pleasant restaurants and trattorias, many of them specialising in local fish dishes, as well as a number of galleries, food shops fashion and antique shops. The village also has a number of attractive sport facilities.
Cervo beach is only a 10 minutes stroll away and offers a mix of white sand and small rocky bays, perfect for snorkelling and diving.
Not far from Cervo, in the rural hinterland, are a number of small, pretty villages where time seems to have stood still. Small, friendly restaurants offer home cooked food with home grown ingredients at very reasonable prices.
