This typically Ligurian village is situated on a hill top, some 3km north of the seaside resort San Lorenzo al Mare. The village is known for its beautifully renovated houses, featuring the classic natural stone fronts. The village has a small food shop for all daily needs whereas the neighbouring village Cipressa (1.5km away) has a bar, a newsagent, a pharmacy, a food shop and a good restaurant offering typically local cuisine.
The nearest nice beaches are in San Stefano al Mare, Riva Ligure or Arma di Taggia. Sanremo and Imperia are close enough, to visit for an evening stroll.
Costarainera is a good place from where to explore the Ligurian hinterland with its pretty villages Molini di Triora and Montalto Ligure or visit the towns of Genova (100km) or the French Riviera (80km).
