There are good reasons why Diano Marina is one of the most popular resorts of the Riviera di Ponente. It has a long sandy beach and the high street has plenty of attractive shops to offer. The many restaurants and bars along the seafront are an attractive meeting point and offer a wide selection of places where to dine al fresco on the many warm summer evenings. For those who do wish to explore the region beyond the sandy beaches, the Ligurian hinterland with its olive groves and vineyards and lovingly renovated farmhouses, is not far away.
On a hilltop, some 2km north of Diano Marina is the historically important village Diano Castello with its many churches, piazzas, medieval houses and tiny mews, meandering through the village.
Diano Castello is home to the renown Vermentino wine, which you can sample, together with local specialities, in the village’s only restaurant. The village also has a small super market covering one’s daily needs.
