The pitoresque village Dolcedo in the hinterland of Imperia-Porto Maurizio, is only 6km away from the coast and sits on the river bank on either side of the river Prino, meandering through the valley of oak trees and olive groves from its source at the Monte Faudo down to the sea, west of Porto Maurizio. The Prino valley is mainly known for its delicious olive oil, which in some cases, is still produced in traditional olive oil mills. The neighbouring villages Prela and Vasia are worth a visit, as are of course the seaside resorts of Bordighera (38km) and San Remo (27km) or the Maritime Alps, some of which are up to 2,000m high.
