Liguria has the cleanest coast with the best water quality in Italy and offers plenty of water fun to be had, be it on the sandy beaches of Alassio or Diano Marina, with a over the Cote d’Azur in Bordighera or in one of the many coves to be found along the 350km coast. The romantic and wild mountain rivers further land inwards, offer places where to plunge into the fresh water coming straight out of the mountains. The whole of the coast offers plenty of places for swimming, sailing, windsurfing or diving, cycling and mountain biking.
The region also offers the opportunity to go riding and hiking in one of the most renown walking resorts in Italy. Sanremo, Garlenda and Castellaro are attractive places to hit the golf ball and even bungee-jumping, free-climbing or paragliding are on offer. The canyons of the Maritime Alps can be explored for canoeing and skiing is possible in Limone and Monese or in the Avevalley. In Zoagli you have the opportunity to hunt for treasures hidden in shipwrecks on the bottom of the sea or go whale watching, leaving from Sanremo or Imperia.
