The medieval mountain village Montalto Ligure, situated between Sanremo and Imperia and a 15 minutes drive away from the sea, occupies a stunning location on a ridge with views over the Martime Alps. The nearest village Badalucco is 2 km away and the beautiful beaches of Arma di Taggia are some 10 km down the road. Montalto itself has a food shop to cover the daily needs, a small post office and a bar. The local Osteria serves excellent local cuisine. A number of hiking tracks start right in the village and invite to explore the surrounding olive groves and woodland all the way up to Monte Ceppo and Monte Faudo. A 10 minutes walk along a former donkey trail, leads to a stunning natural bathing pool in the river.
